- What is Psoriasis Treatment and how does it work?
- At Aura Skin Institute, we use UVB Laser treatment for Psoriasis. This treatment focuses on the restoration of the healthy cells in your skin. The UV rays generated by the Laser focuses on the psoriatic lesion, reduces the ongoing inflammation and rejuvenates your skin to its normal condition.
- How many treatment sessions will I need?
- The treatment consists of 1-2 sessions per week. Remission period depends upon the skin type, age, skin condition and other factors of the patient. Some patients have long remission periods after a single treatment. The average length of the treatment is of 7-8 weeks, approximately.
- Will it hurt me or cause any long-term side effects?
- No, it is absolutely pain-free treatment. As far as side effects are concerned, it depends on the potency of dose applied to the affected area. Higher dose of the therapy might cause blisters, redness, hyperpigmentation and erosions. This happens only if your skin is hypersensitive or you are in not-so-expert hands.

- The contraindications are cancer, active herpes or bacterial infection and recent sunburn within last two weeks of session.
- What is the recovery time?
- The laser has no recovery time expect mild erythema which settles in 24 hours; however the disease takes around two months to show upto 75% recovery depending upon the severity of the condition. Few parameters are there on which the recovery depends, such as age, skin color, skin type and the intensity of psoriasis. The results are visible with each session.
- What if I discontinue the treatment all of a sudden?
